The Lagunaje Recovery project will mean a greater dynamization of the ecological tourism in Alguazas. Another interesting subject that the Mayor of Alguazas has spoken to the President, is financing for the Camino del Levante, which becomes a route O (08/11/2016)

The Mayor of Alguazas City Council, Blas Ángel Ruipérez, has asked the President of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, for funding this initiative that provides for the increase of local tourism, as well as being an additional attraction for users of the Camino del Raise during the next Jubilee Year 2017.

The Consistory is carrying out the study for the Recovery of the "Alguazas Lagoon", which will act on three main fronts.

The first focuses on the improvement of habitat and ecosystem in order to fix more species and greater population of individuals of each species;

The second is to promote citizenship awareness of environmental issues and, finally, to enhance the value of the area through sustainable economic development.

For his part, Blas Ángel Ruipérez said that "the municipality of Alguazas is able to bet with all the resources at its disposal to offer neighbors and visitors a care and ecological environment, and thus boost the economy of the town attracting tourism" .

The alderman of Alguazas has marked his political agenda with the environmental projects, since the municipality has become a pioneer in the creation of a project so that the neighbors who separate the organic waste can create their own composting that will serve to pay their small urban gardens And gardens.

This project of its own creation is already being implemented in the locality, and is arousing the interest of other municipalities that have asked to join.

This initiative has so far had an approximate cost of 10,000 euros for the City Council;

This sum, despite having been requested to the Ministry of the Environment, has not been granted because it does not have the Waste Plan required by law, so it has finally been the CEBAS-CSIC entity that financed the project .

Improvement of local infrastructures In addition to environmental projects, the Mayor of Alguazas has claimed funding for the completion of some infrastructures that result in a loss of important services in the locality.

The first of these is the heated Municipal Pool, which has cost more than 1.5 million euros, and whose implementation requires an investment of 360,000 euros for its air conditioning and equipment.

Ruipérez said that "it is a shame that the residents of Alguazas have had to bear such a high expense without being able to receive the service in return.

CARM must finish what it started by financing this important infrastructure. "

On the other hand, another of the works that were paralyzed was the Early Care Center in 2011, costing € 200,000.

"I have asked Pedro Antonio Sánchez that the Autonomous Community should finalize this work and contemplate the possibility of changing its use to host a multidisciplinary center for young people, associations and other organizations that need it," he said.

Demolition of houses in a state of ruin Finally one of the issues discussed between the Mayor of Alguazas and the President of the Autonomous Community has been the payment that the Regional Administration must do to carry out the demolition of the property in a state of ruin Which he owns.

The houses of the street Santa Teresa pose a danger for the neighbors of the zone, reason why it is urgent and necessary its demolition.

These houses were expropriated during several years for the realization of a river walk.

The works were abandoned and the CARM left 33,0000 euros pending for the demolition of the houses.

CARM For his part, the president of the Autonomous Community is committed to review with the Councilors all the issues that the Mayor of Alguazas has submitted.

Above all, Sánchez has put more emphasis on the funding that will study granting the locality so that Alguazas can boost tourist route of the Levant in the next Jubilee Year so that pilgrims passing through the municipality enjoy the opportunities offered by Alguazas.
