Alguazas distributes food from Food Bank of Red Cross needy families (11/11/2011)

Through an agreement between the council and Caritas, over 200 families in the municipality have received non-perishable food in the last year.

The Department of Social Services Alguazas council, through a collaboration agreement with Caritas Parish municipality, receives and distributes non-perishable Food Bank Red Cross.

Only in 2011, more than 200 families in the county have benefited from this assistance, intended as a reinforcement in the pantry of those households most affected by the crisis.

Solidarity implies even those responsible for the distribution.

The delivery company alguaceña Conexvías is the one responsible, altruistically, to bring food to the town.

The Department of Social Services, meanwhile, supports the screening of those applying for aid.

To ensure that food reaches those most in need, municipal technicians require information to families seeking food, data on the number of dependent children or income.

But none of this would be possible without the volunteer work of members of Caritas Alguazas Township.

They are a group of twelve women who give their time for the food distribution is quickly and effectively.

The council does not determine the dates of distribution, Red Cross is responsible for the Food Bank, who is prepared to consider when making food shipments.

These staple foods with very long expiration date in time, ie cereals, pasta, rice, milk, flour or canned tomato sauce, among others.
