Thursday May 7 about fifty mothers of participants immigrant students in Spanish courses taught in public schools "Monte Anaor" and "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" Alguazas received their diplomas at the House of Culture alguaceña hands of the local mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, and the Councillor for Education, Isabel Zamora.
This methodological approach, equipped with 36 teaching hours and funded by the Regional Government under the intercultural project "Coping", sought to facilitate more fluid communication with the students on issues related to day-to-day educational development of children, and to promote the learning of the Spanish language as a vehicle for socio-cultural integration and coexistence.
"These morning classes were taught by teachers voluntarily and altruistically since last April and have been the main beneficiaries of almost half a hundred women living in the city of North African origin," says Fernández Lladó, who participated in the closing ceremony with directors of schools that hosted the activity.
School of experience
"In total there were 25 women in the 'Nuestra Señora del Carmen' and 22 in the 'Monte Anaor' those that could benefit from this initiative, which sought to share experiences, discover their individual capacities and as a group, build self-esteem, analyze forms of communication with family and children, and learn to solve problems and find ways to equality between men and women, "explains the mayor Isabel Zamora, who notes that the courses have benefited from the collaboration with the Department of Education and Social Services of the local council.
