Alguazas hosted between July 8 and August 8, a course of 100 hours given by the Spanish Association for Environmental Education.

With the cooperation of the City of Alguazas, the course has allowed the formation of workers and students Alguazas in a sector that is offered as an important niche activity and employment.

Environmental issues, environmental education as a response to this problem, the integration of the discipline both in school programs and in the different areas of knowledge and lifelong learning centers, the provision of adequate resources to accompany and training programs to carry out environmental education initiatives, have been the main objectives of the course, the theoretical and practical methodology has combined exercises, itineraries and departures framed in the natural environment Alguazas.

Similarly, students were able to complete their training with 25 hours practice in the City of Alguazas, which designed and developed environmental education activities aimed at different segments of the population, located in the city center and in the various districts of the municipality of both Alguazas, ensuring the knowledge and dissemination of the natural heritage of Alguazas, resources, problems and solutions.

As explained by the Councillor for the Environment, Soledad Pastor Bermudez, "environmental education provided at the local level aims to promote values ​​that are the basis for the development of friendly and sustainable local strategies for the environment."

The course was funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through its Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
