Alguazas has ensured safe water available for urban land development that provides for the General Plan Municipal Management.
It has done so because the full City Council has approved the votes for the Popular Party and votes against the Socialist Party signed a cooperation agreement with the Public Entity for Water in the Region of Murcia for supplying drinking water to meet demand throughout the municipality.
Alguazas Mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, explained that this agreement shall enter into force when the water demands of urban development in the municipality as required and noted that these future demands will be supplied by the public body of water through desalination plant tailings.
For his part, Councillor for the Environment, Javier Gambín, said that the water price will be EUR 0.5874 per cubic meter, the same price that has water that is reaching us from the Commonwealth Taibilla Channel and explained that this agreement is not signed with them because they had no water availability to ensure that Alguazas need in the future.
Yet the government team wanted to emphasize that the City of Alguazas has not closed the door to the Commonwealth Taibilla Channel and the doors are open to continue working with them as is done today.
