More than 20 construction projects attend the Alguazas treatment plant, a hydraulic structure that is now the most important bid in Spain, with an investment of 14.5 million euros financed by 80 percent by Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
Alguazas The new treatment plant is the last major treatment plant that completes the reorganization of the river Segura.
It is designed with advanced technology that includes the specific tertiary treatment system for wastewater reuse.
The plant will have a treatment capacity of 15,000 cubic meters of water per day, which will be available five year hectometres.
Also, covers all environmental protection measures and a complete deodorization and soundproofing.
This project is part of the General Plan for Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment in the Region of Murcia, which has enabled the Community to recover more than 100 hectometres of water per year.
It has also enabled the environmental improvement of Segura, which is currently the least polluted river in Spain.
