Over 1000 people gathered in Town Hall Square Alguazas to attend the fifteenth edition of the National Folk Festival "Villa de Alguazas ', which this year has had the groups invited to the Association folk' Virgen de la Soledad" in Malpartida Cáceres and the Group of Songs and Dances 'Our Lady of Grace' Mahora of Albacete.
Before starting the festival, the mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, the Councillor for Culture, Isabel Zamora, and Group President of Songs and Dances' The Mill, Pedro Barquero, received at City Hall invited the two groups.
After an exchange of gifts, the three folk groups took to the stage of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to dance and sing a wide repertoire of the folklore of his homeland.
One of the highlights of this festival came with the award ceremony 'Huertano of 2010' which this year has been on the Drum and Bugle Band 'Virgen del Carmen', the Association of 'The Samaritan woman and the Lord of the Well' and Bugle and Drum Band 'The Samaritan' in recognition of his career and the prestige that these three bands have been reaping alguaceñas over the years.
The event also served to endow M ª José Sánchez, children's godmother 'El Molino' and M ª Dolores Molina, as matron holder.
They will be responsible for representing the group in all competitions and events held until the next National Folk Festival "Villa de Alguazas'.
