The trade union sections of FeSP-UGT and CSIF in Alguazas Local Police, denounced the null investment and the total abandonment of Alguazas City Council in the area of Citizen Security, in terms of human, material and technical resources.
With regard to Human Resources, the List of Job Positions establishes for the Local Police staff, 1 sergeant, 3 corporals and 19 agents.
Currently there are no capes and only 1 sergeant and 13 agents are available for service.
To try to improve this situation, on May 18, at the General Negotiation Table, the Public Employment Offer was approved, with 4 agent positions and 3 corporal positions, but surprisingly there are still no announcements of the call, Although he was warned of the urgent need.
In recent years, the erroneous policy of filling vacancies with service commissions has systematically been carried out, a situation that has generated great instability.
In addition, the City Council refuses to claim the 4 agents who have commissioners in other municipalities, a fact that has caused in recent months continuous changes in the quarter turn of the Agents (without the required negotiation with unions) and an overload of summer work unusual and very unfair to the staff, forcing several agents to perform extraordinary services against their will and even interrupting the holiday to three of them for this purpose.
These facts are seriously altering the reconciliation of family life and have led to cases of great anxiety for several police officers.
With regard to material means, the commitment to acquire at least one new car has not been fulfilled, since there are 3 very old cars in very poor condition, with continuous breakdowns, one of them with an age of 14 years and another with 254,000km.
The four bulletproof vests available were acquired in 2007 and expired in 2017. The need to provide a single-person vest to each police officer was reported, as is being done in most of the regional staff, since The vests are considered "Individual Protection Equipment", and despite the reports warning of their urgent need and of the possible non-compliance with the Law of Prevention of Labor Risks, it has been ignored.
The transmissions used by the agents are almost all with the battery in very poor condition, do not last 1 full service and therefore are not operational.
Regarding the technical means, at the moment the City council of Alguazas does not have some basic and fundamental Municipal ordinances for the work of the Police, as they are the Ordinance of crane and the Ordinance of noises.
All these deficiencies have been occurring despite the fact that Alguazas City Council closed the 2015 and 2016 financial years with surpluses of 1.81 and 2.17 million euros, respectively, and it is estimated that the end of 2017 will show a surplus of 2 , Approximately 5 million, which shows that it is not a problem of money, but lack of political will to bet on the Police area.
