On the occasion of the Book Day Celebration, the Department of Culture of the Hon.
Alguazas City Council announces the XII Literary Contest “Chimeneas Vigías†of short story, according to the following bases:
1.- All persons over 16 years of age and residents in the Spanish territory may participate in this contest.
2- The theme of the work will be free and the work unpublished.
3.- The extension of the work will be a minimum of three pages and a maximum of six, of DIN-A4 size, written on one side only by computer.
The font will be Times New Roman, size 12.
4.-Each contestant may compete with a single writing, not awarded in other competitions.
5.- The following awards are instituted:
1st Prize: 400 euros.
2nd Prize: 200 euros.
6.- Paper originals will be delivered to the Municipal Library (Calle Escuelas, sn);
In this case, the works will be submitted in quintuplicate.
They may not be signed;
only the title and a motto or pseudonym will be included.
Inside the envelope will be placed the data that identify the author: telephone, address and photocopy of the DNI.).
They can also be sent via email (library@alguazas.es), attaching two different documents in the message: one with the work and the other with the data of the contestant.
7.- The deadline for admission of work will end on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
8.- The jury will be appointed by the Department of Culture of the City Council of Alguazas, which may declare any of the prizes to be deserted or shared.
The ruling will be final.
9.- The non-awarded works will not be returned, being destroyed when all the phases of the contest are finished.
10.- The Hon.
Ayto. De Alguazas reserves the possibility of publishing the works that have participated in the contest.
11.- Those who have won a prize in the previous call cannot participate.
12.- The selected authors agree to be present on the day of the awards ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the House of Culture of Alguazas.
Otherwise, it is understood that they give up such an award.
13.- Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of these rules.
