The Association of Businessmen and Merchants of the Segura (ASECOM) has called on Saturday January 25 (11'45 hours) a demonstration in Alguazas to demand a change in the project known as "Arco del Noroeste", which must connect the A -30 with the A-7.
"Until 2013 it was planned to build the access exit to Alguazas next to RM-531, the Campos del Río highway at the height of the Cement Bridge. But the project changed and that exit was moved a kilometer and a half further north, causing the highway to open next to an open field, without a road that connects with the RM-531, "explains ASECOM president Eloy Jiménez.
"The project of the regional government and the Ministry of Development includes the construction of two roundabouts after the exit of the highway, but what does not appear anywhere is the route to link with the road that currently reaches Alguazas", complain from ASECOM, where they remember that this project is already tendered despite the multiple efforts made by their association to avoid it.
Municipal support
"This decision by the authorities makes no sense because it is a way to 'disconnect' Alguazas, to isolate the municipality and condemn its economic, industrial and demographic future," reflects the president of ASECOM, who reports that this protest initiative all the neighbors, businessmen and merchants of Alguazas, and the surroundings are called.
The demonstration will start from the Mula road, just up to the municipal soccer field, and will run along Colon Avenue, Main Street and N-344.
"At the end, a manifesto of support for this cause will be read," says Jiménez, who wanted to emphasize that "this call has no political dyes, only the spirit of ASECOM to support its Alguazas partners and other businessmen in the area ".
In fact, this problem was addressed in Alguazas in an extraordinary municipal plenary last November and received unanimous support from the three forces represented (PSOE, PP and UxA) to request that change.
