The Alguazas City Council communicates that:

Due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide, and its arrival in the Region of Murcia in recent days, the following prevention measures will be taken at municipal levels, following the health recommendations of the competent state authorities and regional.

These measures, until a new official statement, will remain active FROM FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 THROUGH TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2020:

- All cultural activities scheduled in that period are suspended, namely:

· Reading Club Meeting (March 26).

· Storytelling in the Library (March 27).

· XIII Open Air Painting Contest (March 29).

· Bolero Jazz Band musical show (March 29).

- All sports and youth activities are suspended during said period, namely:

· School Sports (municipal phase, training and attendance at regional finals).

· Sports events with a large influx of public.

· Municipal sports activities for adults.

· Municipal sports schools.

· “Suma y Sigue” youth program.

- All municipal sports facilities are closed, suspending the activities carried out in them and the rentals of private users.

- The following municipal buildings are closed, suspending all scheduled activities within them and their use by associations or entities of any kind: auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura, Torre Vieja de Alguazas, study rooms, Library Municipal (can only be used to loan and return books), Cinema-Theater IV Centenario, Pensioner's Home (cafeteria service will remain active), El Paraje Civic Center (cafeteria service will remain active), headquarters of the Association of Women and unitary school of the Huerta de Arriba.

- The weekly markets of the following dates are suspended: 13, 17, 20, 24, 27 and 31 March 2020.

- The Alguazas City Council will continue to provide its service on a regular basis, from 08:00 to 14:30.

In this unit, all the recommendations sent by the health authorities have been adopted.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS:

- Avoid trips that are not strictly necessary.

If you have traveled to risk areas and have symptoms, call from your home and follow the guidelines set by health professionals.

- Defer or suspend private events in which a high influx of attendees is expected.

- Always follow the recommendations and news from the official organizations (Ministry of Health, WHO) and avoid falsehoods and erroneous information.

It is important to follow the recommendations of extreme care and personal hygiene, especially in handwashing.

These measures seek prevention to prevent the spread of the virus, as well as they are designed to, in solidarity, contribute to the non-collapse of the health system.

At the present time, we can affirm that in Alguazas there is no known case of contagion, so all measures are PREVENTIVE.
