Yesterday, Monday, April 13, 2020, the jury of the XII Literary Contest “Chimeneas Vigías†made its decision public.
The jury, made up of Juan Antonio López Ribera (Councilor for Culture of the Alguazas City Council) as President, Ángel Sánchez Máiquez (professor of Spanish Language and Literature at the IES "Villa de Alguazas") and Miguel Ángel Casanova Guerrero (professor of Geography and History at the IES "Villa de Alguazas"), announced the following winners:
- First Prize (€ 400): “Snow and Coalâ€, by Manuel Ferrero López del Moral (Trobajo del Camino, León).
- Second Prize (€ 200): "Pray, dream, escape ...", by Juan Luis Rincón Ares (Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz).
«This year, our Literary Contest once again breaks the participation record, with a total of 268 originals received.
It has been a difficult task for the jury to choose the winners », explains Juan Antonio López Ribera, Councilor for Culture of the Alguazas City Council, who has lamented that in this edition the traditional award ceremony cannot be carried out because of the health crisis of COVID-19.
