| Summary of social measures in the face of the COVID-19 crisis | From the Department of Social Services and Public Health, in the face of the health crisis of COVID-19, a series of social measures have been carried out aimed at alleviating the effects of the health crisis of COVID-19 in our municipality.
They have been reported by this means since the beginning of the alarm state, but we offer here a brief summary:- Dining room scholarships have been made for 60 minors who were awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Education for 17 working days.
The money has been paid directly to the families.- FEAD food has been distributed and, as an extraordinary measure, fresh food has been requested and distributed from the food bank to 32 families, with the essential requirement of having babies under their care.- All persons over 65 years of age who live alone and who do not have the municipal telecare service have been contacted by telephone.- The Civil Protection service has been used to buy food for families with elderly people in their care.- All the people who were users of the Day Center have been offered the home help service.
So far, 5 families are benefiting from this service.- All the demands of all the families who are calling to request financial aid due to the current situation are being collected, evaluating the cases to process the corresponding aid.- Coordination is being carried out with the Health Center, providing psychosocial support both to families requesting the service and to those who are referred by the center itself.- A telecare service has been launched through a 900 line provided by IMAS.In the words of Ana Gómez Egea, Councilor for Social Services and Public Health, "from Alguazas we are always working within the framework of the Royal Decree, following the measures set by the Government of Spain, and also following the CARM guidelines on this matter" .
