| The Social Services area of ??the Alguazas City Council schedules a series of actions for students with a high rate of absenteeism and / or at risk of school dropout | These actions are intended to prevent dissociation from work routines and task assignments that the teaching teams of the educational centers have indicated to them online or by phone.The Social Services area of ??the Alguazas City Council has adapted its measures against truancy and dropping out of school to the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

The municipal program for the prevention, monitoring and control of these two situations has adapted to this new reality.

Through telephone assistance (654609888), email and video calls, and, in exceptional cases, home visits, contact has been established with the students and their families."The main objective is to provide coverage and support to students who already had difficulties adapting to the school environment (from the parameters of absenteeism and dropping out), that no one is left behind, that the social and digital gap of the most vulnerable families affects as little as possible to the situations of their children in this complicated situation to follow the school year, "explains Victoria Cuello Medina, Councilor for Education of the City of Alguazas.For this reason, the Social Services of the Alguazas City Council have scheduled various actions aimed at students who were already at risk of absenteeism or poor school performance.

These actions are intended to prevent disassociation from work routines and task assignments that the teaching teams of the educational centers have indicated to them online or by phone.The measures contemplated are the following:Control of the educational actions carried out by the students who already have an open absenteeism file.Improvement of established communication channels, with families with whom this work has not been possible.Support for teaching with students with whom it has not been possible to establish contact.Monitoring of the fulfillment of objectives according to the case.Intermediation between students and teachers in the absence of any material or academic doubts.Develop study techniques and planning educational objectives.Strategies on how to organize a study / work schedule and create the work habit.Online educational resources and motivational videos.Academic and professional orientation."This service offers guidelines to the families of minors for addressing behavioral problems, activities that can benefit the acquisition of healthy habits and routines, and how to promote motivation through communication, agreement and positive reinforcement," he points out.
