Dear neighbors of Alguazas:As you know, this coming Friday, July 17, after the motion of censure presented by the opposition groups, I will stop being Mayor of Alguazas, as well as the councilors of the government team will cease in their powers. With this letter, I want, first of all, to convey to you the immense honor and pride that has been for me to be your Mayor for the last five years.
Being able to work for our people, both my councilors and myself, has been an enriching and unforgettable experience.
We have always been driven by the desire for public service, being able to help our neighbors to gain in well-being and make Alguazas a more pleasant place to live.
Whether we have succeeded or not is at the discretion of each alguaceño and alguaceña.I can tell you that we are leaving with our heads held high and with the satisfaction that everything we have done has been for the good of Alguazas.
At no time have we acted for personal gain or for partisan interests.
If we are proud of anything, it is that nobody will be able to say that we have acted with sectarianism.
We have always been clear that our obligation was to work for each and every one of the residents of our town, without distinction of any kind.
And always with transparency, honesty and humility, aware of our responsibility as an administration closer to the citizen. We have had successes and errors, and it is fair to recognize both of them.
I apologize if someone has felt aggrieved by our management, but you should know that the mistakes that we have been able to commit have been the result of inexperience or ignorance, never of bad faith or the desire to harm someone.
Neither my team nor I have been at the head of the City Council, using time and efforts, to do harm; That attitude seems shameful, petty and reprehensible to anyone, especially a political representative.I want to show my gratitude to all the staff of the City Council, who have worked to give direction to all the projects that we have carried out during these five years.
Those of us who have already started and are in the process of processing, we trust that the new government team will take them forward and they will be a reality for our people, as they are very interesting projects for the future of Alguazas.I also want to wish the new government team of the Alguazas Town Hall good luck.
I hope and wish that your management is successful and I offer you my collaboration to continue working for Alguazas.
For our part, they will always find proposals for improvement, as well as loyalty and respect towards the City Council, the home of all alguaceños and alguaceñas.Finally, I want to express my most sincere appreciation to Victoria, Juan Antonio, Sole, Consuelo and Ana, the councilors who have accompanied me on this adventure, my traveling companions.
They are the best team that a mayor could have, for their constant effort, dedication, unconditional support and tremendous humanity.
I always say that without them I am nobody, and I say it with all my heart.
Thank you so much, dear friends. And thanks, again, to all of you, neighbors of Alguazas, for the immense honor of having been your Mayor.
I will continue working, now from the opposition, for a better people.
You can always count on me and my entire team.Receive an affectionate greeting.Alguazas, July 16, 2020.Signed Blas Ángel Ruipérez Peñalver,Mayor-President of the Hon.
Alguazas Town Council.
