The Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment launches the improvement works of the Northwest Greenway passing through Alguazas.
It will be Monday in collaboration with the City of Alguazas and the Consortium of Greenways of Murcia, when work begins.
The performance has European funding through FEDER funds, and is scheduled to be completed at the end of the year.
The works will consist mainly in arranging travel the roads in the vicinity of the railway station Alguazas, signage and the introduction of elements of safety and environmental improvement.
Another of the most important parts of the works will be running a metal footbridge, 27 meters long, as to save the overpass crossing is known as Highway Culvert in Alguazas.
With these works a good stretch of the Northwest Greenway (almost eight kilometers) will be improved.
It will recover in much of the original railway line, including the top step on the RM-531 road, which will facilitate the transit of walkers users and cyclists of the Greenway and pilgrims on the Camino de Levante to the holy city of Caravaca de la Cruz, which celebrates its jubilee year in 2017.
