The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante, visited today, along with the mayor of Alguazas, Blas Angel Ruipérez, the new day center for the elderly of the town that has launched his department.
Thomas recalled that the Community has focused on protecting the elderly and increased the provision of services for those in situations of dependency.
Thus, among other actions, it has created 632 new places for the care of the elderly.
Among them, 555 residential and 77 day care centers.
Violante Thomas explained that "has worked quickly to meet one of the demands of the residents, the launch of this day care center, with a total of 20 seats, which will be contracted through the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS ) for an amount of more than 191,000 euros ".
The Minister of Family recalled that the Community has funded the construction and equipping senior center, and has been met with great agility contest award.

Tomas Violante said that "we will continue betting on those services related to dependents, providing direct care in their municipalities through interventions that favor their permanence and integration in the usual environment and compensate for their restriction of functional autonomy".
Before commissioning the center, dependent elderly people who had requested this service had to be referred to another neighboring municipality, Molina de Segura.
"The objective of the Regional Government is to continue increasing services, providing them with quality, to give a better response to dependent elderly and their families, and all we request to obtain the necessary resource," said the minister, who he concluded that "older people have given their all so that we have such an advanced society like we have, is a priority justice and return it by far."
