The objective of this service is to detect early special needs education and thus guide parents for the optimal development of their children.
The City of Alguazas signed on Friday December 15 an agreement with the University of Murcia to implement a system of assessment and early assessment of CAI students and the Children's School of the municipality.
This Service of Prevention, Promotion of Child Development and Early Care (SEPRODIAT) will be offered, initially, to fifteen children / as of the 94 minors enrolled this year, with the objective of "in the next years to increase the number of evaluations until we do it for the total number of students in our educational and childcare centers in Alguazas, not just those who may have special educational needs, "explains Victoria Cuello Medina, Councilor for Education of the Alguazas City Council.
The objective of this service is to detect early special needs education and thus guide parents for the optimal development of their children.
The service consists of the following guidelines:
- Initial assessment of the child and monitoring of its development.
- Advice to families on guidelines and characteristics of their children's development.
- Early detection of possible alterations of the development or of the adult-child interaction, and referral, if necessary, to the relevant services.
- Final confidential report where the conclusions reached after the work carried out are established.
The personnel that will carry out this work will be the one of the team of investigation in Early Attention of the University of Murcia, directed by D. Julio Pérez López, Professor of the Department of Evolutionary Psychology and of the Education of the University of Murcia.
