Alguazas Mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, Councillor for the Environment, Javier Gambín, and the general director of Planning Assessment and Environmental Control, Francisco José Espejo, presented today at the town's "Bag 15 uses" the representatives of Merchants Association of the municipality.

Following the presentation of the bags the authorities have dealt a package consisting of reusable bags, calendars, "guardabolsas" stickers and information, to be found in shops exposed to the initiative.
The objects have been distributed in the Herbalist Belladonna, the carnage Luján, supermarket and the butcher Franco Fulgencio, all Alguazas shops.
Councilman Alguazas Environment, Javier Gambín, explained that the Autonomous Community has provided the municipality 3,000 bags, with their respective schedules and guardabolsas for up to five bags folded, which is distributed in the municipality. "Thus stated "We want this initiative to reach as many people as possible and thus achieve a sustainable city."

The "Bolsa 15 uses" has 25 percent more capacity and is made of at least 15 percent, with bags from recycled material, which requires a lower consumption of water and energy.

The "Regional Strategy for the reduction of single use bags" was submitted in December 2009 and includes, among other things, eight bags of different alternatives and different uses materials that minimize environmental impact, in which the municipality participates of Alguazas through the Department of Environment.
Two alternatives have been presented and distributed: the "Tribolsa" to facilitate the separation of household waste and the bag "Le sac, made of cotton, small and easily collapsible, designed for small daily purchases.

To articulate the strategy and establish a framework for collaboration between actors involved in the process, the Ministry developed a model agreement that was signed in July 2010, the Health and Consumer Affairs and the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations Murcia (CROEM).
To date, acceded to this convention four organizations producing single-use bags, 13 international distributors and dealers and 27 municipalities including the Town Hall is alguaceño, among others.
