This annual grant will expand the holdings in the municipality.
The regional government, by resolution adopted last Friday by its board of government, has awarded a direct grant on an annual basis, for the municipality of Alguazas estimated at 5,628 euros destined to expand the holdings of the Municipal Library.
This line of direct subsidies granted by the Regional Government, a proposal from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aims to provide new funds to public libraries in the various municipalities in Murcia, the object of his improvement.
This contribution of the Autonomous Community is made according to criteria established by UNESCO.
In the sense that the funding for each public library in the Murcia region is calculated based on the number of people for whom it provides service.
Thus, Alguazas is one of 45 municipalities in the region that will receive this grant to improve library collections, which amount, currently 13,366, of which 12,380 are books and audiovisual material is 3,916.
Municipal notes that the library has a high annual rate of activity, a fact reflected in the more than 7,500 users who visit its facilities annually and more than 2,500 members and has performed nearly 3,000 loans to over year.
