Municipal Elections held on Sunday May 22 reinforced and extended the absolute majority it enjoyed for four years Alguazas People's Party to get 8 of the 13 aldermen who make up the Municipal Corporation.
In this way the Municipal Corporation has been formed by eight council members of the Popular Party, three from the Spanish Socialist Party and two by Alguazas Unit.
Also Alguazas repeated as mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, with the backing of eight votes, which said that this Legislature will continue, along with his companions, "working with and for the people of Alguazas and its citizens."
José Antonio Fernández Lladó also said that "the council is open to all citizens" while he made public his desire to "work in harmony with all members of the Municipal Corporation."
