The registered population in the municipality of Alguazas has increased by 1.5 percent over 2011, according to municipal census data published by the National Statistics Institute.
For the year 2010, the number of new alguaceños was 142 people.
This means that the municipality already has 9288 registered inhabitants.
In recent years, Alguazas population growth has been sustained, with an increase of between one hundred and one hundred fifty people per year.
Thus, while in 2009 the figure was 8928 alguaceños in 2010 amounted to 9146 and in 2011 to 9288 people.
Comparing the population growth in Alguazas with that recorded in the remaining municipalities of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, the population growth in the municipality has been above the regional average, which rose by 0.6 per percent.
Translated into number of inhabitants, the community of Murcia and has 1,470,069 inhabitants, Murcia 8090 than in 2010.
In the whole country, and Spanish are 47,109,493, up 0.4 percent over the previous year.
