The College of Education and Primary (CEIP) Our Lady of Mount Carmel Alguazas, has organized an open day to show parents of students, operation and services of the center, one of the best equipped in the region not only infrastructure and services, but by the great team of professionals working on it and the privileged environment where you are.
The visit was attended by the Councillor for Education of the City of Alguazas, Isabel Zamora, who along with the center's director, Josefina Cantero, the head teacher, Francisco Bernal and Secretary, Francisco Jose Tomas, took a tour of school facilities .
Councilors were also Youth, Joaquín López Verdú, Social Services, Maria Dolores Hernandez and Works and Services, Fernando Almagro.
The faculty, composed of 40 teachers is an example of commitment and effort that encourages and trains 433 students, both in the formal education of children and primary and different activities that complement the academic training of young people.
The center has pioneered the teaching of English in the region, incorporating a number of years for the teaching of this language from the 3 years in all elementary and primary levels.
Thus, students achieve, once they have passed the primary stage, a high level of English.
French is also taught as a second language from Primary 5 °.
For the development of its activity, teachers have the latest technology applied to education, such as digital whiteboards that are nearly all classrooms and computers.
Activities related to computer starts from an early age 3 years and music is taught from Primary 1, to this end, the center has both a computer room and another for music.
The school has a lending library that offers books, plus a wide selection of works for young people reading.
Also, there is a class for art, a science classroom and a classroom Plummer.
There is also a hall with a stage for theater and film.
For the development of sport in the center there is a large gym, an outdoor patio of the largest in the region with 15,000 m² with trees and gardens, which houses a basketball court, volleyball and football, in addition to the stands and a football pitch roof.

The facilities are accessible to persons with disabilities.
The educational offer is extended to study aid classes for children 5 and 6 Primary, conducted in collaboration with the foundation "CEPAIM" and the NGO "League for education and popular culture" and have the support of the "Once". They have a counseling team for diagnosis and treatment of students, teaching and hearing therapy and speech, plus a compensatory education teacher.
To facilitate the integration of children and family conciliation, the center offers a breakfast service, developed in collaboration with the Department of Education of the City of Alguazas.
Within the various activities organized, highlights the health program in which students learn hygiene, and environmental sustainability, with workshops and activities for protection and respect for nature and for which they have a real pet , a squirrel, a tribute to the squirrels that live in the trees downtown.
