A total of forty-three artists from different parts of country participated yesterday in the V Painting Competition Outdoor Villa De Alguazas this year carried the theme "Alguazas: its corners and its people."
Throughout the morning of Sunday the artists took to the streets of town looking for a place to capture in his paintings.
While most chose the Town Hall, other painters were located opposite the church of San Onofre or sought inspiration along the river.
In the afternoon, the works were exhibited in the hall of the House of Culture so they could visit neighbors Alguazas addition to the participants of the contest, which this year came from different parts of the Region of Murcia and Andalusia as well as Madrid , Valencia, Albacete, Alicante and Zaragoza.
Following the jury's verdict Zamora Isabel Palacios, Councillor for Culture and president of the jury, Incarnation Palazón Campillo, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bravo Fernando Cano, elementary education teacher and expert on the various arts and Francisco Torrecillas, painter and sculptor , were given various awards.
The work done by Francisco Campos Tocornal, took first prize of 700 euros, the second $ 500, went to Jose Maria Diaz Martinez and the third € 300, for Christopher Perez Garcia.
It also gave an award sponsored by the company Marvimundo, worth $ 500, to Daniel Parra.
The Mayor of Alguazas, Jose Antonio Fernandez Lladó was responsible for delivering the awards.
Hundreds of people attended the awards gala in addition to the Youth Councillors, Joaquín López Verdú, Planning, Francisco Javier Garcia Gambín of Agriculture and Water, Jose Manuel Gil Knight.
The works can be visited from 1 to 29 April in the Old Tower.
