"The river Mula awaken your senses" is the name of the initiative for conservation and environmental regeneration of the banks of this tributary of the Segura as it passes through the town of Alguazas which aims to promote citizen participation through various actions encourage volunteerism to improve the river channel.
We talked about a project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment under the Volunteer Program in Rivers and channeled by the Segura basin, account development with coordination of the Delegation in the Region of Murcia of the Spanish Association for Environmental Education and collaboration alguaceño Consistory, the University of Murcia and various local groups like the Club of the Third Age and the Associations "Alegra" Women and Women Alguazas Nigerian residents in the population.
The bulk of this environmental initiative activities have constituted the thematic sessions, scheduled from May 26 to June 16 and carried out in the area known as "Hill of the Misindos" alguaceña population, have focused their objectives , supported by the implementation of various workshops can cover a whole topic about it and deal with content such as water quality analysis (conducted by staff of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Murcia and focused to illustrate degradation of river ecosystems and the Mula river using microscopes), biodiversity, urban birds of the Vega Media del Segura, water (by dynamic monitors of the Association "Alegra" that showed the perception of the river through of the senses with the realization of rain sticks, watercolors and ecospheres), fingerprints, butterflies and water use.
"The river Mula awaken your senses," which seeks to encourage participation, enjoyment and interaction of both neighbors in particular as associations of local commissioning activity through sustainable alternatives and environmentally friendly, complete with wider initiatives the largest number of attendees such as a poetry competition that may attend the creations, with a maximum of 14 lines, with the theme of the conservation of rivers in general.
The winner of this literary award will win a folding bike valued at 180 euros.
By way of closing the initiative of participation and environmental regeneration of the Mula river as it passes through the town of Alguazas, Old Tower in the municipality will be mounted on 15 September an exhibition displaying photographic images taken during of this project.
