"The river Mula awaken your senses" is the name of the initiative for the conservation and environmental regeneration of the banks of this tributary of the Segura as it passes through the town of Alguazas that since that commenced on 26 May, have had aimed at promoting citizen participation through various actions promoting volunteerism to improve the river channel.
We talked about a project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment under the Volunteer Program in Rivers and channeled by the Segura basin, its development has been assisted with the coordination of the Delegation to the Region Murcia of the Spanish Association for Environmental Education and collaboration alguaceño Consistory, through its Department of Environment, University of Murcia and various local groups such as the Club of the Third Age and the Associations "Alegra" Women Alguazas Nigerian women and residents in the population.
The bulk of the activities of this environmental initiative have formed the thematic sessions, conducted in the area known as "Hill of the Misindos" alguaceña population, have focused their objectives in the implementation of various workshops capable of encompass a comprehensive topic about it and have dealt with content such as water quality analysis (conducted by staff of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Murcia and focused to illustrate the degradation of river ecosystems and the Mula River by using microscopes), biodiversity, urban birds of the Vega Media of the Segura, water (monitors by energizing the Association "Alegra" showing river perception through the senses with the realization of rain sticks, watercolors and ecospheres), prints, butterflies and water use.
"The river Mula awaken your senses", which seeks to encourage participation, enjoyment and interaction both neighbors particularly as local associations through the implementation of sustainable alternatives and business friendly environment, complete with another initiative open to as many participants as a poetry competition that may attend the creations, with a maximum of 14 lines, having as theme the conservation of rivers in general.
The winner of the literary award will win a folding bike valued at 180 euros.
By way of closing this initiative participation and environmental regeneration Mula River as it passes through the town of Alguazas, Old Tower in the municipality will be mounted next September 15th an exhibition displaying photographic images taken in the course of this project.
