On Tuesday June 30 was held in Alguazas the first plenary of the legislature from 2015 to 2019, with the socialist Blas Angel Ruipérez as new ruler of the town.
There were two issues raised most interest among those attending the plenary: remuneration and allowances of the government team and the distribution of the departments.
Regarding the first issue, the government team maintained its commitment that the City would pay a single release with a salary of € 1,600 net, or two half releases.
In the case of Alguazas be the Mayor and the Councillor for Education who serve on half release, with a gross salary of € 1,090 (€ 800 net) in 14 payments, and will not charge for Plenary or by governing boards.
The remaining council members receive compensation from € 100 Governing Board and € 50 plenary.
The opposition members also receive € 50 plenary.
As indicated Victoria Neck Socialist Municipal spokesperson and Councillor for Education, "the savings in salaries and allowances of councilors is more than 50% over the previous PP government, which were for about 80,000 € per year in remuneration of the government team. This reduction represents a savings of more than € 40,000 annually. "
Moreover, the distribution of the departments is as follows: Neck Victoria Medina (Deputy Mayor) will deal with Education, Youth and Health;
Juan Antonio Lopez Ribera (Second Deputy Mayor) will take care of Culture, Sports, Communication and Transparency;
Soledad Pastor Bermudez (Third Deputy Mayor) will address Urbanism and Environment, Personal and Public Safety, and Consuelo Araez Asis (Fourth Deputy Mayor) will take care of Social Services, Senior, Equality and Celebration.
The Mayor will also assume the areas of Finance, Works and Services and Employment.
Other agreements reached at the session:
- The Boards of Governors will be held every Tuesday at 13.30.
- Three Advisory Committees are established: Informational Special Accounts Committee and Finance and Internal Affairs;
Informative Commission of Urban Planning and Environment, and Information Committee Sectoral Policies and Social Welfare.
Committees shall be composed of four councilors and the President (PSOE): PP, 2 councilors;
PSOE, 1 councilor;
UXA, 1 councilor.
- The Ordinary Plenary will be held the last Thursday of every odd month at 21.00.
As noted by the mayor, Blas Angel Ruipérez, "with the socialist government, the House will recover all its powers, according to the law. In the previous term, the PP took from the plenary sessions many of these powers, preventing the debate on many important issues for the town; we are committed to transparency and the sharing of ideas and projects. "
- The mayor and the government team offered the possibility to members of the opposition to participate in collegiate bodies like the Municipal School Board or the Boards of Security, with voice but no vote.
As Victoria Cuello, Spokesman of the Municipal Group Socialist, "we want to invite the opposition to participate and contribute ideas in these organs, which is not the case with the governments of the PP says. We will encourage greater participation of members of the corporation and avoid opacity than it used to flaunt the Popular Party during his mandate. "
