On July 7, students of the course "geriatric care for dependent persons in social institutions" received their diplomas from the hand of Mayor Blas Angel Ruipérez.

Alguazas City Council has developed this free course between February 16 and July 3, 2015, with a total duration of 450 hours, of which 80 were not working internships in three nursing homes in the region of Murcia (Geriatric "San Pablo" Ltd. in Ceuta, "The Palm of Mar Menor" Ltd. in Los Alcázares, and Residence and Day Centre "Our Lady of Fatima" in Molina de Segura).

The theoretical part of the course was developed in the Multipurpose Center Paco Serna from 9:00 to 13:30.

The course was funded by the Department of Employment and Training (SEF) of the Regional Government, with close to 30,000 € amount, and has been mainly aimed at unemployed workers with mínimna formation of ESO or equivalent, as it is a professional certificate level 2.

"The current legislation provides that caregivers, gerocultores or similar professional categories must prove the professional qualification of social care for dependent people in social institutions. Hence the importance of professional certificate has been issued to students in this course," explains Mayor Blas Angel Ruipérez.
