Members of the Board of guilds are already immersed in preparations for organizing Alguazas Easter 2009.
On Tuesday 27 January a meeting had all the components resulting unanimously appointed as Town Crier Easter 2009 Fernando López Bermúdez.
The Proclamation will take place on Saturday, April 4 at the parish church of San Onofre, after the Mass is traditionally celebrated for all deceased brothers from different fraternities and sororities of our people.
All alguaceños know the personality and merit which contribute to the person designated this year, but will refresh your memory with some data from its extensive curriculum:
• Born in 1943 in Alguazas
• He studied medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
• Diploma in Education, Faure Institute in Barcelona.
• BA in Religious Studies from the School of Theology San Damaso de Madrid.
• Bachelor of Theology, specializing in Spirituality and Ethics at the University Landívar of Guatemala.
• Diploma in Human Rights by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
• Has worked as a missionary in Guatemala for 30 years serving rural and indigenous populations in the field of defense and promotion of human rights.
• has done pastoral work with Guatemalan refugees in Chiapas, Mexico, alternating with the Chair of Theological Methodology in Mexico City, and later, Professor at the Faculty of Theology at the University Landívar of Guatemala.
It has also been Professor of Spirituality at the American Institute of Religious Sciences.
• It has encouraged, along with his wife, community development projects supported by the Association of Friends of Guatemala, Alguazas.
• Collaborated closely with Bishop Juan Gerardi, a martyr of peace, and later with Bishop Alvaro Ramazzini in front of the Human Rights Program of the Diocese of San Marcos.
Pastoral Counselor Education in the same diocese.
• Member of the Board of the National Movement for Human Rights in Guatemala.
• He has published editorials in Spain, the United States, Guatemala, Mexico and Switzerland.
For such an extensive and valuable work has, among others, the following awards:

"Monsignor Gerardi Order of Human Rights 2005", awarded by the Archdiocese of Guatemala for his work for Human Rights. "
2.
Declared "Distinguished Citizen Award 2007" for his work in defending human rights, granted by the Governor, mayors and Council Development Department of San Marcos (Guatemala).
3.
Awarded the "Golden Shield Villa" by the City of Alguazas in March 2008.
