CEIP Nuestra Señora del Carmen has been selected by the General Directorate of Academic Planning for the activity of scientists in the classroom during this school year 2008-09.
It sets three practices, one in each quarter, aimed at students of 6 th level.
These exercises, prepared by professors from the University of Murcia (UMU) and the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPC), is bringing the world of science, technology and research to the classroom.
The goal is to actively engage the student's learning, awakening in them an interest and motivation through these experiences.
In the first quarter, on 3 December, was made the 1st Practice: "Pests and diseases.
Fruits and vegetables alive. "
In the second quarter on Thursday, March 5, was the 2nd Practice.
TOPICS OF THE ACTIVITY: INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION PROCESS. "
The teacher, Angel Molina, UPC, presented through the Internet and OH projector operating schemes of different energies: wind, hydro, solar, thermal electrical conductors ... different then passed to observe and experiment with other electrical potentiometers desaceleradotes accelerators and motor traffic light timer switches, laser power, etc.
The students showed great interest in explanations, but what I enjoyed most was the handling of appliances, lights and cables.
The management of the Centre sees this as very interesting experience and an adjunct to their training in the area of Environmental Awareness and looks forward to the next practice, "EXPERIENCES OF CHEMISTRY", to celebrate the upcoming quarter.
