John Brown, accompanied by the mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, the Councillor of Social Services, Dori Bermudez, members of the Team, representatives of associations and neighbors, gave a lecture at the ground floor of the Home for the Elderly where addressed the various individual aid the Regional Government and the State makes available to the disabled and dependent.
During the speech, the Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs, explained in detail the steps to be eligible for Dependency Act, explaining what kind of people are considered dependent and which ones are entitled to benefits, either economic or service.
In addition, attendees were shown a visual presentation which outlined the main aspects of the Law Unit and which also highlighted all data relating to the municipality of Alguazas.
So far have requested application dependency assessment alguaceños 256, of which 215 applications have been resolved and Degree of which 167, 77.6%, resolved to grade be protected, or what is the same, that are entitled to benefits.
However, as explained by John Brown, the timing of implementation of the Dependency Act leaves economic benefit or service to those dependent on Level 1 and Level 2 to 2011 or 2012 and those dependent Level 1 Grade 1 will not receive any delivery until 2013 or 2014.
This means that although a person be granted the degree of dependence, may not receive any benefits until several years ago.
Finally, the director gave an overview of the investment of the Ministry of Social Policy in Alguazas, which last year invested a total of € 1,161,565, of which € 270,000 belonging to the Law Unit, which is funded by Autonomous Community by 50%.
To end the chat, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, encouraged those present to come to the office of City Council Social Services to inquire about the Law Unit and other support from the Autonomous Community of Murcia and are in service for several years, as individual support for Persons with Disabilities (AIPD), Senior Financial Aid, Aids Periodicals for People with Disabilities (APPD) or regular support in the Middle For Family Care (FAFA).
The latter, very similar to the Law Unit, is placed at the service of Murcia for almost ten years.
