The Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, today with the mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández, IV Amateur Theatre Festival "Villa de Alguazas', to be held from 9 to 31 October at the Cinema-Theatre IV Centenario of the locality and in which four companies are competing in the Region.
Antonio Martinez noted the importance of citizen participation in such activities as "enhances the artistic development and cultural life of a municipality."
He also stressed the importance of commitment-based culture, "since it is essential for the formation of the citizen."
The jury of theater professionals and general public alike, will award prizes for the best show, best director, best actress and actor and secondary.
The event opens at Alguazas group 'El Molino', which participates as a company guest on Friday 9 October.
Moreover, competition will be held parallel to the II Festival de Teatro Infantil de Alguazas, to be held every Friday from 10:15 hours and attended more than 1,000 children of school-age city.
