The Municipal School Board held its first plenary session since began, the current school year 2009/2010.
The agenda included seven points, among which is the renovation of some board members and approval of the distribution of the 2009 budget.
José Antonio Fernández Lladó, president of the Municipal School Board, opened the plenary, which was attended by the Councillor for Education, Isabel Zamora and the other directors, which comprises, as representatives of associations of parents, principals and teachers the four schools in the municipality.
The Municipal School Board is an advisory body of the various sectors involved in the education system.
In addition, it also serves as an instrument of democratic participation in local educational management.
It comprises representatives of all members of the educational community: parents, students, teachers, principals, and representatives of City Hall.
This establishment meets at least a couple of times: once at the beginning of the school year and another to an end, but depending on the need, the full frequency may vary.
The partial replacement of some members of the Municipal School Board and representatives of associations of parents, staff and services, students and public schools has been one of the points discussed at the meeting.
Two years ago, there were some changes among the members of the council, four years later, we proceeded to the renewal of other members.
Another of the issues discussed was the approval of the annual budget allocation, which this time amounts to nine thousand euros.
Of this, 1200 will be split evenly between different schools of the municipality, while the seven others in 1800, representing 70% will be for primary schools and 30% for secondary.
The money earmarked for primary schools, half are split equally between the two centers for equipment, while the other fifty percent will be variable and the amount that is allocated depends on how many students are there in each center.
In the case of institutes, the share of budget allocated is performed in the same way, obtaining a fixed amount for equipment and depending on the number of students.
Another issue discussed during the meeting was the approval of non-school days unrestricted.
Each year, schools have three days, but given the fact that this year, the two local holidays are not instructional, have five days.
The schools have agreed to choose the 6, 7, 8 and 9 April and needed a day to choose.
Although there were various proposals, he finally decided to be on 15 February.
It now remains, that once made these requests are approved by the Regional School Board.
