In Guatemala, ninety-three thousand children die each year from hunger-related diseases.
To eradicate this problem the association "Friends of Guatemala" in Alguazas is helping young children through the 'school lunch', which provide food to children in rural schools.
Hence, it is necessary to have school kitchens in which to make the meals, which the organization is performing.
Already built a kitchen window in the village of Santa Rosa, Ixchiguán, and is building a second one in the village Buena Vista in the same municipality.
The construction of this kitchen is what has led to Friends of Guatemala has organized a solidarity dinner to raise funds to continue its work and to help make this kitchen a reality.
More than eighty people, including members of the association, residents of the municipality and the local mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, the councilman of Social Services, Dori Bermudez, and the owner of Police, Fernando Almagro attended.
After lunch there was a raffle in which were raffled off various gifts that were donated by various shops in town, who wanted to contribute in this way to the cause.
In total, the association has raised more than six hundred euros, which will go entirely to the construction of the kitchen in the village of Buena Vista.
Guatemala seeks friends through educational development and food to help eradicate hunger and illiteracy and thus help to small Guatemalans.
