More than 20 people have submitted to the competition to design the new logo for the Department of Equal Alguazas and the winner was Laura Martinez, a 23-year-Murcia town of Roldán.

During the time the deadline has been open, the Department of Equality has received proposals from both Murcia and Alguazas as other places such as Madrid, Bilbao, Cordoba and even Portugal.

The chosen design depicts a woman and a man linked by an equals sign.

The logo is colored in shades of purple, the color representing the Department of Equal Alguazas.

The winner, who has been known to coincide with International Day Against Violence Against Women, has received a cash prize of 300 euros.
