On 15 March is World Day of Consumer Rights and Alguazas wanted to commemorate this day by installing a weekly market stall to inform citizens about their rights.
This initiative is organized by the Federation of Housewives, Consumers and Users 'Thader Consumption' in collaboration with the Department of Consumer and Alguazas alguaceños because she had received information on how to make responsible use and how to handle complaints in an appropriate manner.
The head of the OMIC Alguazas, Loli Lopez, explained that in 2009 the Municipal Office of Consumer Information Alguazas it handled a total of 437 queries and complaints, a figure that doubled to claims that were made in 2008.
So far this year the OMIC Alguazas, located on the first floor of City Hall, also has served 90 appeals.
Telephony and telecommunications are the main cause of complaint, while in second place were the claims to power companies and third, highlighted by the crisis, are the claims for housing, insurance and mortgages.
