The work is part of the Convention for the Suppression of 28 level crossings in the Region of Murcia, with an investment of 18 million euros
This morning was inaugurated a footbridge over the railway in the Paseo Alfonso X of Alguazas (Murcia).
The work, funded by the Ministry of Works through Adif public company, under an agreement signed with the Region of Murcia, has made a EUR 557,000 investment.
The works have been executed by the city of Lhokseumawe.
The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Delegation of the Government, Juan José Camarasa and Development Area Director of Government Office, Diego Peñarrubia, and on behalf of ADIF, the Director General of Infrastructure Development, Luis López.
The footbridge over the railway, which was inaugurated today, is part of the agreement for the elimination of level crossings in the Region of Murcia, signed last July 23, 2009 between ADIF and the Ministry of Public Works of the Autonomous Community Murcia, which includes the elimination of 28 level crossings and protection and urban integration of 3 other level crossings, and that includes the bridge over the railroad tracks in Alguazas.
This performance reflects the commitment to improve safety Adif the deletion rail works of level crossings, improving their protection and awareness campaigns.
Specifically, part of Suppression and Enhancement Plan of Level Crossings launched by the Ministry of Development in 2005 with a total budget of 1,320 million euros.
Adif Agreement - Autonomous Region of Murcia
The agreement signed by ADIF and the Autonomous Community of Murcia for the elimination of level crossings in its territory, signed last July 23, 2009, represents an extension of the agreement signed earlier in 2001, as amended and updated in 2003 2005.
The planned investment amounts to EUR 18,838,640.5, of which the Ministry of Development provides two thirds of the total, around 12,560,000 euros.
The agreement is an extension of previous actions that have been the elimination of several level crossings.
1 .- Elimination of level crossings.
Of the total of 28 steps that will eventually eliminate before the end of 2010, 15 of them have already completed the work of suppression, and 11 steps are in the process of elimination.
Level crossings are:
1.1 .- Level crossings and deleted:
Sewer Line-Lorca: 7 crossings located in Librilla (4), Alhama de Murcia (1), Totana (1) and Lorca (1).
Chinchilla-Cartagena line: 6 crossings located in Murcia (2), Torre Pacheco (2) and Cartagena (2).
Lorca-Baza Line (3): 2 level crossings located in Lorca and 1 in Puerto Lumbreras.
1.2 .- Level crossings to delete:
- Sewer Line-Lorca: delete 6 level crossings, of which 4 are already in construction phase:
Phase of works (4): Alhama de Murcia a level crossing situated at kilometer (pk) 30/350 (Camino del Prado), in Totana a level crossing site on the pk 31/251 (Way of Huertas Bajas) and Lorca 2 steps located in the pk 46/982 (Camino Hinojar) and 47/823 (Camino de Casas Castillo).
Pending trial (2): located in Lorca in pp.kk.
54/615 (Camino del Molino de la Sierra) and 55/127 (Churra Trail).
Its elimination is affected by the informative study of urban integration project and adaptation to high-performance rail network Lorca.
- Line-Eagles Almendricos: delete 3 level crossings located in the pp.kk. Eagles
21/387 (Venta del Pobre Road), 21/914 (Way of the Arejos) and 24/818 (Ray Road).
All are in the process of writing project.
- Online Lorca-Baza: delete 2 level crossings located in Lorca in pp.kk.
3 / 797 (Razorfen Road) and 6 / 620 (Salt Road).
Both are in the process of writing project.
2 .- Proceedings of protection and urban integration.
Projects completed:
A pedestrian walkway and exterior cladding Cotillas Towers.
An extension of gauge underpass under the railway line in the level crossing located in the pk 6 / 686, in the municipality of Cartagena, and closing line in lighting, exit direction in the tailings.
