Coinciding with the celebration in the month of March International Women's Day for the third consecutive year since the Department of Equal Alguazas has wanted to pay tribute to some neighboring town.

Alguazas Mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, and the government team attended a moving ceremony held at the House of Culture of the municipality.

Isabel Sola, Managing Director of IMAS and Fernando Mateo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration have been present on the spot.

Sola has highlighted the efforts made by these alguaceñas, whom the general secretary gave as an example to follow.

Ros Angeles, Catalina Martínez, Encarna Dolera, Dolores Navarro, Maria Auxiliadora Verdú, presents Fernández, Josefa Mondéjar, Ascension Vidal, Soler Hazard, Mary Campbell and Maria Rodriguez alguaceñas are honored at the Tribute to Our Elders, which was held in House of Culture of the town.

Eleven women who have had to juggle the care of his family and work outside the home, some had to emigrate to carve out a future, others who had the misfortune of losing a child or husband and have to keep your life to get his family forward.

The honorees have been eleven Alguazas neighboring, octogenarians, fighters and as highlighted by the mayor of the town, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, "have been an example for future generations, and which through a simple act, the Alguazas City Council wanted to pay tribute.

During the emotional ceremony, have designed various snapshots of the honorees while a voice read some words that were written with love to give to know these courageous women.

As a souvenir of this special day, we have tried to have a detail with the honorees, which have been handed over a bouquet of flowers and a plaque.

The event has been entertained by Faustino Fernandez, who has twice gone to the scene, one of them accompanied by Catalina Cano, who has recited poetry, who has played some songs on guitar.
